The end of Pride Month has finally come, but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna stop playing and celebrating queer games whenever possible. In fact, this post features five games — more than any other of my Pride posts this month.

If you’re into visual novels, these five LGBTQ+-friendly picks should keep you entertained well into the summer. And if you’re craving more, perhaps I’ll check back in with some more gay games later this year.

But for now, let’s get readin’.

‘Trouble Comes Twice’

This delightful VN from Foxglove Games lets you play as twins: Hazel the sister and Jace the brother. Neither one of these siblings is experienced in the realm of dating, so they end up egging each other on in a race to find love.

Either of them can date any of the available romance options, so you’re encouraged to do multiple playthroughs for even more excitement. Plus, there are some bonus stories available as a DLC if you’re down for more.

“Trouble Comes Twice” is available on PC.

‘Butterfly Soup’

A sapphic sports VN starring a cast of Asian girls? No, wait, TWO of them?! It’s true — “Butterfly Soup” and its sequel are name-your-own-price over at Itch.io, so there’s absolutely no excuse for not giving it the ol’ college try.

Play ’em for free if you need to, but it’s always nice to support indie devs with some cash.

“Butterfly Soup” is available on PC.

‘Highway Blossoms’

We all need a road trip from time to time, and “Highway Blossoms” is the canonical lesbian road trip game. Enjoy driving around the Southwest looking for gold, and smooching big time.

There are also two DLCs to expand your experience: A paid story expansion and a free adults-only patch that will fog up your monitor if you’re not careful.

And if AO3 has anything to say about it, “Final Fantasy XV” is the canonical gay male road trip game for the record.

“Highway Blossoms” is available on PC.

‘Dream Daddy’

The Game Grumps put out an absolutely enchanting VN about both kinds of daddies. How is it possible that so many available queer dads ended up in the same place at the same time? Don’t worry about it! Just start smoochin’ your favorite dads, okay? Smooch smooch!

“Dream Daddy” is available on PlayStation, Switch, PC, and iOS.

‘Date Everything’

I reviewed “Date Everything” earlier this month, and I was enthralled with this ambitious dating sim. While it’s definitely on the silly side, there are some lovely romantic moments in there, and it’s inclusive of a wide range of sexual orientations, gender identities, racial and ethnic identities, and body shapes. I can’t speak more highly of it.

“Date Everything” is available on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC.
