After years of tumult in both the games industry and the media, it’s clear that traditional models no longer function. Independent, worker-owned companies are increasingly the only path forward for those of us who don’t want to train AI models while being paid a pittance.

That’s why two friends with decades of experience, Grant and Jared, have teamed up to make an indie outlet that we can actually feel proud of.

And without further ado, we’d like to introduce ourselves.

Grant Brunner, Editor-in-Chief

Grant has written professionally for the better part of two decades. With a focus in consumer technology, video games, and internet culture, he’s written for publications like Digg, PCMag, ExtremeTech, Geek, and more.

A Delawarean through and through, he spends his spare time taking long walks, participating in local politics, and enjoying regional theater.

“Day of the Tentacle,” “Dear Esther,” “Disco Elysium,” “Mass Effect 2,” “Ocarina of Time,” and “Phantasy Star Online” are a few of his all-time favorite video games.

Jared Russo, Chief Content Officer

Jared has been a writer, editor, and podcast host for over 15 years. His bylines have appeared in AOL Games, Vice, Waypoint, Google, Lifewire, Dotdash, The Business of Business, Digg, and Sherwood News. A lifelong New Yorker, he enjoys bagels and the Knicks.

His favorite games include “Katamari Damacy,” “Hearthstone,” “Sly Cooper,” “Street Fighter,” and anything involving Mario.
